Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are two of the biggest stars on the MTV reality series “The Hills”. The two went public this week and stated that they had a small and very secretive marriage ceremony last week.
But Montag told Us magazine that it was a romantic and intimate ceremony. “The minute we said our vows, I couldn’t stop crying,” Montag told Us magazine. The ceremony was held Thursday at the One & Only Palmilla Resort right outside of Cabos San Lucas, Mexico. While the two were standing at the altar Pratt called his new wife “the light in my life” and said that she made him “feel complete”.
This intimate ceremony wasn’t just a secret to the media and fans – but also to the parents. Montag said that the ceremony was completely spur of the moment and that she had called her mother Darlene to hint that something was going to happen. “Her reaction was to ask me if we were breaking up! I told her it might be something else, and she said, ‘Well, if you ever plan on getting married, just know that your stepdad is really upset that you want your father to walk you down the aisle.’”
Don’t worry too much Mom because one other person that was kept in the dark was Montag’s father. Bill Montag told People magazine that he would be “upset” is his daughter got married without telling him or inviting him.
Pratt and Montag have been dating since 2007. After only eight months he proposed to her with a diamond encrusted platinum band with a purple stone in the middle. The two separated for a time due to personal problems – but reconnected in May. That is when they went on a secret vacation to Mexico. During that time Pratt said that Montag shared her beliefs. “Heidi read me Biblical passages like ‘Honor they wife,’ ‘” Pratt said.
