America Ferrera Shows Distaste For “Mean Girl” Shows
America Ferrera is the star of the hit TV show “Ugly Betty” - which has brought in a fair share of viewers that have grown attached to the misfit character that she plays. The show that she stars in “constantly debates the themes of beauty on the inside vs. the outside”.
Us Weekly stated that Ferrera is unhappy with “Gossip Girl”, “The Hills”, and “90210” because they “teach girls to be mean girls”. The actress told the October issue of Seventeen, “If you’re watching The Hills or 90210, all the backstabbing shapes the way we act ” you go to school, and you think your job is to find a sworn enemy and be jealous of each other.”
That leaves us to wonder what she thinks of Blake Lively - her co-star in “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and the star of “Gossip Girl”. She admits, “I mean, I love Blake; she’s a wonderful friend of mine, but shows like Gossip Girl kind of condition us to be mean.”
