‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Takes On New Doctor
At first the women were fascinated with McDreamy, then came McSteamy. And the women of Grey’s Anatomy will have to come up with a brand-new nickname now that the ex-Wings hunk Tim Daly is on his way to work on the show as a new doctor. Daly, who is 51, will be appearing on a special two-hour episode of the ABC drama that might serve as a springboard for a spinoff series.
The spinoff will also star Kate Walsh, who will be playing Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd on Grey’s Anatomy. It seems that actor Taye Diggs has also signed on to appear in the special expanded episode. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daly’s character is described as “handsome, sincere, like a McDreamy.” Paul Adelstein, who plays double-crossing Secret Service agent Paul Kellerman on FOX’s Prison Break, has also been cast, although it’s we are not exactly sure what his role is at this time.
Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes is writing the special episode, details of which are being kept under wraps, but which USA Today reports will feature Walsh’s character thinking over an out-of-town job offer. Should the spinoff go forward, Addison will most likely accept the offer. Daly most recently starred in ABC’s critically lauded drama The Nine.
