Lindsay Lohan Speaks Up About Ledger’s Death
Lindsay Lohan has had a rough two years because of her addictions to drugs and alcohol and her struggle against anorexia. Hearing the death of Heath Ledger was a horrible shock that shook her to the core.
Her feelings over the matter of his death became public when she was interviewed after her photo shoot for New York magazine. In the new issue the actress, 21, poses nearly naked for a recreation of “The Last Sitting,” the last series of photos of Marilyn Monroe.
Lohan calls Monroe’s suicide “tragic,” adding, “you know, it’s also tragic what just recently happened to someone else.” Asked if she’s referring to Ledger, Lohan replies, “They are both prime examples of what this industry can do to someone.”
Still, the star, who’s been in rehab three times, insists she will not end up like them. “I’m not them … I sure as hell wouldn’t let it happen to me,” she tells the magazine.
Ledger died of a prescription drug overdose last month. He was in the middle of shooting his final film, “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.”
