We were told last week that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo were not split up and that they were having the time of their lives. This week we are hearing a new song. A song that says they are going through some hard times in their relationship and they may not make it out in one piece.

Jessica Simpson has been married (Nick Lachey) and it seems that is something that she is desperately trying to look for in Tony Romo. There are even rumors that she wants to be a mom - and soon. Yet, Tony - who still has a roommate (even though we know he can afford his own place) - is loving the freedom he has and seems content in his bachelorhood.

“Jessica has made no secret of the fact she wants to get married, and with all the Ashlee wedding talk and Jess’ dad’s involvement, Tony was obviously feeling it,” another source said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if he just couldn’t go through with the proposal and that’s what’s caused the break.”

It also doesn’t help that Joe Simpson - Jessica’s father - seems to be taking just a little too much interest in Romo. The Chicago Sun-Times says that Papa Joe was offering “unsolicited advice to Tony on his career, endorsement opportunities and things that have nothing to do with him dating Jessica.” What’s more, Tony had “really had it” with all the pap-insanity and felt that his relationship was “distracting” him from football.

Whether or not they have actually split is still under for debate. However, we do know Jessica’s track record and it wouldn’t surprise us one bit.
